Vascular level inflammatory response induced by COVID-19 | JIR - Dove Medical Press

A new study has found that COVID-19 may increase vascular inflammation in patients with diffuse large B cell lymphoma (DLBCL). The study analyzed 35 DLBCL patients who underwent 18-Fluorodeoxyglucose (18F-FDG) positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) imaging before and after COVID-19 infection. The arterial wall FDG uptake was assessed, and the results showed that DLBCL patients scanned within 30 days of COVID-19 infection had higher vascular inflammation compared to those scanned more than 30 days after infection. The findings highlight the need for increased attention to vascular function and complications in DLBCL patients with COVID-19.
