The Saskatchewan Cyclotron Facility, operated by the Sylvia Fedoruk Canadian Centre for Nuclear Innovation Inc., has received funding to accelerate the development of new radioisotope products needed by local researchers for nuclear imaging and therapeutic purposes. The funding will support the production of three products: Gallium [68]-Chloride, Sodium-Fluoride[18], and Fluorine[18]-Prostate-specific membrane antigen, which will be used for cancer diagnosis and treatment. The project aims to establish a local manufacturing capability within two years. The funding was announced at the 11th International Conference on Isotopes in Saskatoon.
