Switzerland to lift Fukushima import curbs on Japan foods - The Japan Times

Switzerland plans to lift import restrictions on food products from parts of Japan, including Fukushima, on August 15th. This follows the European Union's decision to remove radiation tests on agricultural and fishery products from 10 prefectures, including Fukushima. The Swiss Ambassador to Japan informed the Fukushima Governor about this decision. Currently, 10 countries and regions, including China, South Korea, and Taiwan, are maintaining import restrictions on Japanese food products. China and Hong Kong have also intensified radiation inspections of seafood imports ahead of the planned release of treated radioactive water from the Fukushima No. 1 nuclear plant into the sea. Previously, a total of 55 economies had imposed restrictions on Japanese food imports after the Fukushima disaster. Other countries, such as the United States, Israel, and Singapore, have already lifted their import restrictions.
