Strategic Radiology has announced that Fort Wayne-based Summit Radiology has joined its national coalition of independent radiology practices. Summit Radiology, which consists of 80 radiologists providing subspecialized reading services to 26 hospitals in Indiana, has established a strong presence in the state through its excellent service and use of information technology. By joining Strategic Radiology, Summit Radiology hopes to find ways to reduce expenses and improve its patient care mission. The practice has a diverse range of reading expertise and capacity, including musculoskeletal, cross-sectional imaging, neuroradiology, interventional neuroradiology, and more. Summit Radiology has also built a sophisticated IT infrastructure to support its distributed, subspecialized reading solution. Fort Wayne is the second most populous city in Indiana. Strategic Radiology is a national coalition of 35 independent radiology practices aiming to improve quality, operational efficiency, and the future of radiology's private practice model.
