The Radiology No-Show Calculator incorporates socioeconomic data, improving its predictive capabilities. The research, published in the Journal of the American College of Radiology, analyzed data from nearly 33,000 outpatient appointments and found a significant correlation between socioeconomic disadvantage and no-show rates, which ranged from 15% in less deprived neighborhoods to 32% in the most deprived ones. The tool demonstrates moderate predictive accuracy and could help prioritize outreach to high-risk patients, potentially enhancing health outcomes for socioeconomically vulnerable groups.
