The South Korean government has stated that the radiation levels of all seafood imported from Japan this year are within the safe range. This comes amidst concerns over Tokyo's plan to discharge contaminated water from the Fukushima nuclear power plant. The government has conducted measurements on 5,447 cases of seafood, including 3,160 cases of Japanese imports, and found no traces of radiation. In addition, emergency radiation tests conducted on the water at 10 major beaches have also shown safe radiation levels. South Korea and Japan are set to hold working-level consultations to discuss Seoul's request regarding Tokyo's discharge plan.
