Private equity firm selling radiology network for $2.4B - Radiology Business

Private equity firm Permira is selling Australia's largest radiology provider, I-Med Radiology Network, for $2.4 billion to Hong Kong-based Jardine Matheson, acquiring a 100% ownership stake. I-Med, which operates 215 diagnostic imaging centers in Australia and New Zealand, recently expanded into the U.S. by acquiring teleradiology provider StatRad. Permira purchased I-Med in 2018 for nearly $900 million, marking a 39% return on investment with this sale. Jardine plans to leverage I-Med's strengths and invest in growth within existing and new markets, with a focus on sustaining high earnings growth and continued innovation, particularly in artificial intelligence. The deal, anticipated to close by the end of 2026, is subject to regulatory approval.
