Oxford spinout RADiCAIT uses AI to make diagnostic imaging more affordable and accessible — catch it at TechCrunch Disrupt 2025 - Yahoo! Tech

RADiCAIT, a Boston-based startup, has emerged from stealth with $1.7 million in pre-seed financing to develop AI technology that converts CT scans into PET scans, aiming to make cancer diagnostics more accessible and affordable. The company, a Top 20 finalist in Startup Battlefield at TechCrunch Disrupt 2025, leverages a generative deep neural network initially developed at the University of Oxford to correlate CT and PET scans. RADiCAIT claims its AI-generated PET images will maintain diagnostic quality comparable to traditional PET scans, addressing supply-demand issues in cancer imaging. The startup is now initiating clinical pilots for lung cancer testing with major health systems and is pursuing FDA clinical trials, targeting similar applications for colorectal and lymphoma cases.
