MECC launches advanced digital system for radiation licensing - The Peninsula Qatar

The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change in Qatar has launched a new digital system for processing radiation license applications, aimed at enhancing public service efficiency and supporting digital transformation efforts. This system, which offers over 60 digital services, streamlines the licensing process from application to approval, allowing real-time application tracking. The initiative reflects national goals to improve government performance and access to digital services. Director Eng Abdulrahman Al-Abduljabbar noted that the system is continuously refined based on feedback from relevant teams. Plans are also in place to expand digital services and integrate the system with other national agencies to improve intergovernmental collaboration, especially regarding radioactive materials. Training programs for staff and businesses have been implemented to ensure user readiness, and workshops have been conducted to facilitate the transition to the new system. With approximately 3,300 radiation licenses issued in the past two years, the Ministry aims to support secure and responsible use of radiation in various sectors, including medicine and research.
