Krystle Glasgow: Advocating for Nuclear Medicine - School of Health Professions News - University of Alabama at Birmingham

Krystle W. Glasgow, clinical coordinator in the M.S. in Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging Sciences program, has been recognized for her excellence in the nuclear medicine profession. She is dedicated to helping her students succeed and staying updated on the latest advancements in the field. In 2021, Glasgow was elected president-elect of the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging Technologist Section (SNMMI-TS), where she advocated for nuclear medicine technologists (NMTs) and introduced successful programs, such as the New Strategic Plan and the Technologist Pipeline Task Force. Glasgow has also received recognition for her article on nuclear medicine technology and has been invited to special events, such as the rededication of The American Chemical Society's Dr. Saul Hertz and the Medical Uses of Radioiodine National Landmark. She has also been actively involved in advocating for legislation that affects nuclear medicine and patient care. Her efforts have resulted in progress in bills, such as the Facilitating Innovative Nuclear Diagnostics (FIND) Act, which now has numerous cosponsors and has made its way to committees. Glasgow believes that by uniting efforts in the nuclear medicine community, the field can reach new heights and positively impact patient care.
