The head of the State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate in Ukraine, Oleh Korikov, has reported a deteriorating situation at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, highlighting four recorded power outages in the past year. He stated that the plant faces ongoing issues with equipment degradation and delays in technical maintenance, posing significant risks to nuclear and radiation safety in Ukraine for 2025. In response, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha urged the international community to impose sanctions on Russia's state nuclear corporation, Rosatom, and to bolster Ukraine's air defense to address the threats posed by Russian attacks on the energy infrastructure.
