Kenya has been chosen to host a post-graduate training program in nuclear and radiation safety for English-speaking African countries. The course, organized by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), aims to train professionals at the graduate level. Kenyatta University and 10 other local institutions have expressed interest in leading the five-month program, which is set to start in October 2023. The IAEA has sent a team to evaluate Kenya's preparedness to host the training, which will be the first time for the country. The program is seen as an opportunity for Kenya to ensure the safe and secure use of nuclear technology.
