India setting new benchmarks in medical research: Rajnath - Awaz The Voice

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh spoke at the 22nd convocation ceremony of King George's Medical University in Lucknow, highlighting India's advancements in medical research and self-reliance. He discussed the development of indigenous solutions to global health challenges, including gene therapy for haemophilia and a nanomedicine for breast cancer. Singh noted that the country has made significant strides in healthcare, exemplified by the first indigenous macrolide antibiotic and MRI machine. He praised CAR-T cell therapy for making cancer treatment more accessible in India, emphasizing the transformation of the healthcare sector under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership. Singh also commented on the improvement of healthcare services in Uttar Pradesh and called for a greater awareness of organ donation.
