IAEA Trains the Next Generation of Radiation Protection Leaders in Asia and the Pacific - International Atomic Energy Agency

Twenty-five radiation protection professionals from Asia and the Pacific have graduated from a six-month IAEA training program aimed at enhancing radiation safety infrastructure in the region. The program, hosted in Bangi, Malaysia, focused on providing participants with specialized knowledge and practical experience through a combination of classroom education, technical visits, and research projects. The PGEC has trained over 2,200 professionals globally and emphasizes collaboration among young professionals to strengthen radiation safety standards. Additionally, the IAEA conducted an independent review of its internal safety regulatory system, confirming a well-established framework. Yemen has also signed its first Country Programme Framework for 2024–2029 to enhance nuclear safety infrastructure.
