The IAEA and the European Federation of Organisations for Medical Physics (EFOMP) have signed a new agreement to enhance collaboration in promoting the safe use of ionizing radiation in medicine. This initiative focuses on ensuring quality assurance in radiation medicine as countries expand their healthcare capabilities to manage various diseases. EFOMP, representing over 10,000 medical professionals, aims to harmonize and advance medical physics across Europe. Under the agreement, both organizations will develop guidance documents, educational materials, and training resources over the next three years, with a special emphasis on supporting cancer care through the Rays of Hope Anchor Centres.
