House committee advances key legislation to strengthen pay for diagnostic imaging agents - Radiology Business

The U.S. House of Representatives has advanced legislation aimed at strengthening pay for diagnostic imaging agents. The Facilitating Innovative Nuclear Diagnostics (FIND) Act, supported by industry stakeholders including the American College of Radiology and the Society of Nuclear Medicine & Molecular Imaging, would require separate payment for radiopharmaceuticals with a per-day cost exceeding $500. Currently, Medicare only reimburses for radiopharmaceuticals through a packaged system, which can create a barrier for those who need newer nuclear imaging agents. The FIND Act would eliminate this obstacle by requiring separate payment for these agents. The bill now has 41 co-sponsors and will head to the full House for consideration.
