Hong Kong threatens to ban more Japanese goods - Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

Hong Kong has announced that it will ban the import of aquatic products from Fukushima and other Japanese prefectures if Japan discharges treated radioactive wastewater into the sea. Secretary for Environment and Ecology Tse Chin-wan expressed concerns about potential errors in the treatment process and the impact on the environment and food safety. The announcement comes as Japan plans to gradually release the treated but slightly radioactive water into the Pacific Ocean. Hong Kong already has restrictions on the import of certain products from Fukushima and other nearby prefectures, but the new policies could expand the ban.
