Clinical Study Demonstrates Effectiveness of Team-Wide Radiation Protection System - Imaging Technology News

The NOVARAD clinical study has shown that the Nova-X full-body radiation protection system significantly reduces exposure to X-rays for interventional neuroradiology operators. The study revealed an 11-fold decrease in radiation dose to operators compared to traditional lead protective gear. Conducted across four hospitals, the study measured radiation doses from 178 medical procedures, highlighting that the Nova-X system allows for comprehensive protection without the need for cumbersome lead aprons, thus improving ergonomic safety and potentially attracting new professionals to the field. The positive findings also suggest that Nova-X could alleviate the musculoskeletal disorders prevalent among healthcare providers due to existing protective equipment. The company intends to initiate a commercial rollout of Nova-X in Europe following these promising results.
