China also enforces strict regulations on radioactive waste management, ensuring that low-level waste is appropriately handled and monitored. The ministry is exploring advanced waste disposal technologies and has initiated feasibility studies for commercial nuclear waste reprocessing. Currently, China operates 58 nuclear units, with plans for more, aiming to become the top global atomic power producer.
