The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has opened the application cycle for the fourth round of its Marie Sklodowska-Curie Fellowship Programme (MSCFP). The programme provides scholarships to women interested in studying nuclear-related subjects, with the aim of encouraging more women to pursue careers in the nuclear field. This year, the MSCFP is expected to award the highest number of scholarships per cycle to date, with 200 students set to receive funding for tuition, living costs, and internship opportunities. Since its launch in 2020, the programme has awarded scholarships to 360 women from 110 Member States studying in 65 countries. The recipients have pursued master's studies in various nuclear disciplines, including nuclear sciences and applications, nuclear energy, nuclear safety, nuclear security, safeguards and non-proliferation, and nuclear law. Many of the recipients have gone on to complete internships facilitated by the IAEA. The MSCFP aims to contribute to global gender parity in the nuclear field and is supported by contributions from IAEA Member States and partners.
