Any attempt to restart Zaporizhia NPP should be regarded as act of nuclear terrorism – Ukrainian official at INRA meeting - Interfax-Ukraine

Oleh Korikov, Head of Ukraine's State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate, condemned attempts to restart power generation at the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP), asserting they should be seen as acts of nuclear terrorism due to the plant's current state under Russian occupation. He emphasized the degradation of safety measures, lack of functioning emergency preparedness systems, and absence of qualified personnel, making it impossible to safely operate the ZNPP. Korikov also called for increased International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) monitoring and urged the international community to oppose Russia's actions and apply pressure against its nuclear threats.
