A significant collaboration among the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM), the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), and the Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM) has resulted in the co-publication of a new syllabus titled “Teaching AI for Radiology Applications.” This syllabus, endorsed by multiple societies, aims to define essential AI literacy for professionals in the radiology field. It was developed by a group of nearly 30 experts and is designed to provide a flexible framework for teaching AI fundamentals, clinical integration, regulatory issues, and ethical considerations. The project emphasizes the urgency of multidisciplinary education as AI continues to transform medical imaging, ensuring that radiology professionals are equipped to safely and effectively use AI tools in patient care. The full syllabus is now available in three leading journals: Medical Physics, Radiology: Artificial Intelligence, and the Journal of Imaging Informatics in Medicine.
