Lewisville-based company Orthofix Medical has announced the full commercial launch of its 7D FLASH Navigation System Percutaneous Module 2.0, as well as the successful completion of the first cases in the US using the system. The module provides new planning features and increased functionality for the navigation system, which is used in minimally invasive spine surgery. Orthofix aims to better serve the estimated $1.8 billion minimally invasive surgery spine market in the US. The system uses visible light to create a three-dimensional image for surgical navigation, eliminating the need for standard X-ray imagery and reducing radiation exposure for staff and patients.
